Name: Bob Balfe
I am a software engineer by choice and trade. I love writing code and have pretty much dabbled in many different technologies and languages over the past 30 years. I spent seven great years in the United States Marine Corp. I am an above average golfer, I coached many of my kids sports – basketball, baseball, softball, and football (I love coaching) and I love reading and writing about technology – and that’s why I blog! I play some first person shooters every now and then on the XBox with my kids but that is usually in the winter. I also love snowboarding and traveling with the family.
Currently I am a Senior Technical Staff Member on the North American Smarter Commerce Team at IBM. LinkedIn Profile. My job is multi-faceted in that I work on the pre-sales team for the Smarter Commerce piece of IBM’s Industry Solutions. This includes many products like WebSphere Commerce, Order Management, Enterprise Marketing Management, Enterprise Content Management and Contract Management. Our team is a specialized team of individual contributors that assist customers in realizing their Smarter Commerce vision. We help in creating solutions to their business needs spanning all areas of the eCommerce business.
